Soak in all the sights and sounds as Wrigley prepared for its first World Series game in 71 years

The last time Wrigley Field saw a World Series game, the country was still celebrating a recent victory in World War II. Point is, it's been a while -- 71 years, as you might have heard by now. But on Friday night, all that waiting came to an end, as the Cubs hosted the Indians in World Series Game 3.
The North Side has waited a long time for this, and now that their day is finally here, they haven't disappointed. The festivities got started early -- like, "12 hours before first pitch" early:

There were a lot of Cubs fans:

Some of them old:

Some of them young:

Some of them, er, enthusiastic:

And some of them even came as actual Cubs:

Even the dogs dressed for the occasion:

All due respect, though, the Caray statue might have worn it better:

But no matter what shape or size, they all came for one reason: to finally see their team up on the October marquee:

Alas, though Wrigley was rocking throughout, the Cubs fell just short in a 1-0 loss in Game 3. The Friendly Confines will be just as wild on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. ET air time | 8 ET game time on FOX).
