Steven Souza Jr. ran a long way chasing down a foul ball, so he took a rest on the bullpen bench
Often when Steven Souza Jr. races long distances to track down fly balls, he ends up making dramatic leaping catches like this one from the end of April:
In the second inning of the Rays' 8-5 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday, though, he ran into foul territory chasing down Howie Kendrick's popup and came up short. Some distances are too far for even the fleetest of foot, and after sprinting all that way at full speed, Souza needed a rest.
But just for a lil':
It all looked so perfectly planned, it makes you wonder if this is how Souza slides into his couch at home.
