On Thursday, the D-backs paid tribute to their franchise icon in a video that -- obviously -- recognized his ability to hit home runs, which he did 209 times in a D-backs uniform. But, Goldy was more than his dingers, as the video atop this post shows. He was also a figure in the community through Goldy's Fund 4 Kids.
Goldschmidt has been such a constant in Arizona for so long it will likely take a while for the team and its fans to get used to him not being there. Reflecting on his important place in franchise history is part of that process.
