The Phillies are honoring Rhys Hoskins with 'Rhys Lightning' weekend
One of the biggest stories of the second half undoubtedly has been the seemingly never-ending hot streak of Phillies rookie sensation Rhys Hoskins.
Hoskins has had a historic first month in the big leagues, reaching 11 (and then 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18) home runs faster than anyone in baseball history. Even his teammates are asking for his autograph.
To celebrate their record-smashing rookie, the Phillies are holding a Rhys Lightning weekend at Citizens Bank Park for their series against Oakland. All five sections of the second deck in left field will be filled with Hoskins' fans cheering on their new superstar, and we couldn't miss the chance to join in on the celebration.
There was only one problem: We had a small miscommunication about what the weekend was actually celebrating. Check out the clip above to see what happened.
Jake Mintz is the louder half of the Cespedes Family BBQ. Despite a torn UCL in his right elbow, he still finds a way to tweet excessively during baseball games.
Jordan Shusterman is one half of Cespedes Family BBQ. He enjoys overpaying for Mike Trout in fantasy baseball leagues and convincing the masses that Mike Zunino is good.
