Tim Tebow made an excellent leaping catch at the wall for the St. Lucie Mets

Just days after Tim Tebow's promotion to the Class A Advanced St. Lucie Mets, he has already made a strong early impression. After homering on his first day with the team, he set out to prove to the Florida State League fans that he could play some defense, too.
Tebow got his opportunity in the first inning of St. Lucie's 11-0 win over the Fort Myers Miracle on Friday. With a runner on first and two outs, first baseman Zander Wiel crushed a deep drive toward the left-field wall.
Tebow tracked the ball perfectly and made an outstanding leaping catch, crashing into the wall and then the ground as he fell. But he held on:

With that effort, Tebow has made great improvements since his first taste of organized ball last year in the Arizona Fall League, when he somewhat infamously crashed, face-first, into the wall:

Baby steps! He's getting there.
