Possible No. 1 Draft prospect Brendan McKay tied a Louisville record with a four-homer game
With the MLB Draft six weeks away, there's not much time left for prospects to impact their stock. Louisville pitcher/first baseman Brendan McKay, ranked as the No. 7 prospect by MLB Pipeline, but in the discussion to go first overall, did everything to prove his case on Tuesday.
Facing Eastern Kentucky, McKay tied a Louisville school record set in 1976 by blasting four home runs and driving in nine. Yeah, that should make a few scouts perk up.

Perhaps shockingly, Louisville only scored five runs that weren't created by the slugger.

Despite the performance, he may not even be drafted as a position player. Though MLB Pipeline's Jim Callis compared him to John Olerud at the plate, he can also command a mid-90s fastball that has teams salivating.
There might be a simple explanation for the performance, though: McKay wants his own Sports Illustrated cover.
Louisville's Brendan 'Two-Way' McKay, the other No. 1 pick contender, didn't like Hunter Greene's SI cover. Had four HR and nine RBI today. pic.twitter.com/FrT5Ya8JIi
