Twins reliever Ryan O'Rourke's pitching secret is that he throws up before every appearance

MLB players are a diverse bunch, and they bring with them a rich tapestry of pregame routines: A series of complex stretches, kissing the manager's forehead, dancing, whatever it takes to get ready to perform at the highest caliber. So really, is it so weird that Twins reliever Ryan O'Rourke has a Bill Russell-esque proclivity to vomit before he pitches?
Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press talked to O'Rourke about it on Tuesday:
"I'm pretty pumped up out there. I think everything is culminating as I'm getting ready for my big moment, whether it's energy or what. I like the competitive aspect. I think this is just a way for me to release a little bit of my nerves."
O'Rourke said he's voided his stomach before nearly every appearance he's made at the big league level, but he's been doing it since high school.
Considering he made 26 appearances out of the bullpen last season and led the team in WHIP (outside of one mound appearance by shortstop Eduardo Escobar), it seems to be working. Although Phil Hughes seems to have some concerns:
