Curtis Granderson can make friends anywhere, even in the on-deck circle

Who says professional athletes aren't accessible to fans? Curtis Granderson is in the midst of a grueling Wild Card race, but he didn't let that stop him from making time for a few special fans during the 8th inning of the Mets' 5-4 loss to the Braves on Tuesday night.

With Yoenis Céspedes at the dish and the Mets trailing, 5-1, Granderson was in the on-deck circle preparing for his at-bat when a few fans caught his attention. He stopped to chat and posed for a picture before heading to the plate after Cespedes reached via a hit by pitch.
Would Granderson let the momentary diversion distract him from the task at hand? Not a chance. He hit an RBI double and later scored a run to bring the Mets within one of the Braves.
Those fans may not have gone home with a Mets win to make them smile, but they did walk away with a happy memory they'll never forget.
