Former reliever Todd Coffey wants to bring Coffey Time back to MLB
Todd Coffey last pitched in MLB in 2012, making 23 relief appearances for the Dodgers. Since then, he's spent a couple of years in the Minors and 2016 with the independent league Long Island Ducks, but he's at the Winter Meetings this week to debut the latest in men's fashion and make his pitch for a MLB comeback. Jake and Jordan from Cespedes Family BBQ caught up with him and learned two very important things:
1. Coffey declared himself to be the best red-headed Major Leaguer of all time.
2. If he gets another shot in MLB, he vowed to bring back Coffey Time.
You know, Coffey Time:
When entering a game, Coffey would sprint from the bullpen to the mound as fast as he could. He once said his fastest time was under 15 seconds -- if he signs with a team this week, we'll have to see if he can beat that in 2017.
