It was Josh Donaldson day at Rogers Centre, so of course his mom threw out the first pitch

It was all about Josh Donaldson at Rogers Centre on Sunday. Donaldson was presented with his 2015 Silver Slugger Award, he had fans lining up outside the ballpark for his bobblehead hours before the game against the A's and, for those who missed out on the giveaway, there was this giant Donaldson bobblehead available for photos:

But, most importantly, his mom Lisa was there to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and Donaldson was at home plate to catch it:

According to MLB.com's Alykhan Ravjiani, the third baseman got to pick who he wanted to throw out the first pitch on Sunday and, of course, picked his mother. Because sure, bobbleheads are nice, but it's really your day when your mom is there to celebrate with you.
And for his part, Donaldson lived up to his day, doubling in his second at-bat and later coming around to score:
