Willy Adames and Jake Bauers are sad that they can't play baseball together anymore

TORONTO, ON - SEPTEMBER 21: Jake Bauers #9 of the Tampa Bay Rays is congratulated by Willy Adames #1 after scoring a run in the fourth inning during MLB game action against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre on September 21, 2018 in Toronto, Canada. Thursday saw the hot stove go nuts. Edwin Encarnacionwas sent to Seattle, Carlos Santana went to Cleveland, Yandy Díaz went from Cleveland to Tampa Bay and the Rays sent Jake Bauersover to Cleveland. Phew -- catch all that?
While most people were interested in how this would impact each team's roster or the postseason races, we forgot about the friendships getting split up: Namely, Bauers and Willy Adames, the bestest of best friends. After meeting as opponents in Class A in 2014, the two became fast friends. That offseason, Bauers was traded to the Rays and the two became teammates as they rose through the Rays system, eventually playing in the big leagues together.

They'll have to go back to being friends after games, now. Adames was bummed, saying more in two emojis than he could in words:

There was only one way for Bauers to respond:

You'd better believe the two have May 23 marked on the calendar. That's the first day the Indians will face the Rays next season.
