The Dream Series, established in 2017, is operated by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball. This event will host a diverse group of more than 60 high school pitchers and catchers from across the country, in a special development camp atmosphere as well as a showcase for professional scouts and collegiate recruiters. The Dream Series will be the first of several amateur development camps to come in 2020.
In addition to the on-field instruction, participants receive daily presentations from former Major Leaguers, scouts, college administrators and other industry professionals. The focus of these presentations is to prepare the prospect for the collegiate and professional recruiting processes and offer information about alternative careers within the baseball industry. As in similar amateur development camps, a large contingent of college recruiters and professional scouts are expected to attend and evaluate players who demonstrate potential, but may not have had the opportunity for exposure through other events.
Coaches at the 2020 Dream Series will include Bob Didier, Marvin Freeman, Mike Scioscia, LaTroy Hawkins, Jerry Manuel, Darren Oliver and Lenny Webster.
