A Reds Hall of Fame inductee in 2000, Concepcion was one of the finest shortstops of his era. A 9-time National League All-Star and 5-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner, Concepcion spent his entire 19-year (1970-1988) career with the Reds and his uniform #13 was retired by the club in 2007.
Pete Rose is baseball’s all-time leader with 4.256 hits. A Red from 1963-1978 and again from 1984-1986, Rose holds Reds franchise career records in a host of statistical categories. A 13-time All-Star during his Reds career, Rose also won two Rawlings Gold Gloves, three National League batting titles, the 1973 National League Most Valuable Player Award, and was named the MVP of the 1975 World Series. Inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2016, his uniform #14 was retired by the Reds the same year.
These statues were produced to commemorate the Reds Hall of Fame’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Big Red Machine’s back-to-back, 1975 and 1976 World Championships and are part of the Hall of Fame’s exclusive Great Eight statue set that honors the Machine’s fabled starting lineup.
