A veteran of 14 Major League seasons, Bret Boone was one of the finest second basemen of his era. A Red from 1994-1998, Boone was a key member of the Reds’ 1995 NL Central Division -winning club. In 1997, Boone set a still-standing Major League record for second baseman with a .997 fielding percentage and tied the record for fewest errors by a second basemen with two. In his final season in Cincinnati, Boone represented the Reds on the National League All-Star team and won a Rawlings Gold Glove Award for defensive excellence.
Boone is part of a three-generation baseball family. His grandfather Ray and father Bob both enjoyed long major league careers and his brother Aaron spent the first seven years of his 12-year major league career with the Reds including the 1997 and 1998 seasons as Bret’s teammate in Cincinnati. Boone is currently the host of the popular Bret Boone Podcast.
On April 5 and 6, Bret Boone will be the featured guest at two unique events at the Reds Hall of Fame!
