Crosley Field Historic Site Tour

Take a guided tour of the site of the legendary former home of the Reds

Crosley Field Historic Site Tour – Saturday, September 14, 11:30 a.m.

Join longtime Reds team historian Greg Rhodes as he leads a tour of the site of Crosley Field, the legendary home of the Reds from 1912-1970. The cozy ballpark that was located at the corner of Findlay St. and Western Ave. in Cincinnati’s West End witnessed innumerable historic moments in its long history hosting All-Star Games in 1938 and 1953 and World Series in 1919, 1939, 1940 and 1961.

The site of the beloved ballpark features replicas of Crosley’s foul poles and a replica light tower and includes markers for the locations of second base, third base and home plate. The site also features a large mural depicting the ballpark’s look during the 1950s.

In addition to a wealth of Crosley Field lore, tour guests will also learn about Reds history at the site that pre-dated Crosley, a history that began in 1884 and included the construction of multiple parks at the location before Crosley opened in 1912.

Each tour guest will receive a signed copy of “Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame Highlights, Vol.2,” Greg Rhodes’s most recent book on the rich history of the Reds.

The 90-minute tour begins at 11:30 a.m. with check-in starting at 11:15 a.m. Ticketed guests should meet at the Crosley Field Historic Site sign located in front of the main entrance to City Gospel Mission, 1805 Dalton Ave., Cincinnati, OH, 45214. Ample complimentary parking is available in two lots on the City Gospel Mission property.
