4th of July to-do list: Final Votes, fireworks

The 4th of July means friends, family, firing up the grill and, if you're like millions of other folks, baseball. Whether going to the ballpark for a game and festive fireworks display or tuning in while enjoying the holiday afternoon at home, there's plenty of baseball to go around.
With the 2017 All-Star Game rosters unveiled on Sunday night, five players from the NL and five of their AL counterparts are going head-to-head to see which two will be added to the rosters after the #FinalVote competition. Fan voting ends Thursday at 4:00 p.m. ET, so get those votes in!

The schedule is full of can't-miss matchups for this Independence Day, so if baseball's on your holiday to-do list, here's a look at some of what the day has in store.
Red Sox (David Price) vs. Rangers (Yu Darvish) -- 8:05 p.m. ET
In Arlington, the Red Sox and Rangers will face off again, and a marquee pitching matchup is on deck pitting David Price against Yu Darvish. Expect a lot of nasty off-speed pitches, and perhaps some off-the-wall defensive gems, too.
Royals (Danny Duffy) vs. Mariners (Felix Hernandez) -- 6:40 p.m. ET

It's #FelixDay once again in the Pacific Northwest, where Félix Hernández will take the hill at Safeco Field looking to pitch the Mariners to a win over Danny Duffy and the visiting Royals.
NL West Showdown in Los Angeles
Fresh off their beach trip-themed excursion to sunny Southern California, the D-backs (52-31) ride into Los Angeles to face the Dodgers (55-29) with NL West supremacy hanging in the balance. The Dodgers ride in having won two of three in a weekend series in San Diego, while the D-backs are riding the emotional highs of a dramatic 4-3 win on Sunday afternoon over the Rockies:

As if that narrative wasn't already juicy enough, the game (beginning at 9:10 p.m. ET) pits southpaws Patrick Corbin and Clayton Kershaw against each other.

Not too shabby.
Pitchers vs. their former clubs
Rays (Chris Archer) vs. Cubs (Jon Lester) -- 2:20 p.m. ET
At Wrigley Field, an Interleague set will begin when Jon Lester and Chris Archer toe the rubber against each other. For Archer, this will be a pretty special day, considering he spent several years with the Cubs prior to the 2011 trade to Tampa Bay that resulted in his becoming the Rays' ace. It's only his second career start against the Cubs, too. And he'll have to bat, so that'll be a sight to see, as well.

Padres (Trevor Cahill) vs. Indians (Corey Kluber) -- 7:10 p.m. ET
San Diego and Cleveland will open up an Interleague series at Progressive Field, and for Indians ace Corey Kluber it'll be a bit of a flashback. The right-hander was originally selected by the Padres in the 4th round of the 2007 Draft, and this will be his second start against them in his career. If he's on, don't be surprised to see plenty of this all night:

Fireworks -- both on and off the field

While some stadiums will host postgame 4th of July fireworks extravaganzas on Tuesday night, other forms of explosive action will likely take place at the plate -- and with the announcement of the T-Mobile Home Run Derby participants on Monday, it's best to remain alert at all times.

Just hours after the official reveal, Charlie Blackmon and Mike Moustakas, both Derby participants, proved their dinger-mashing might with some blasts of their own.
Who might follow suit on Tuesday? Tune in and find out.
Have a fun, festive -- and safe -- Independence Day, and may it be filled with plenty of baseball action.
