Adam Wainwright reminded everyone he is a #PitcherWhoRakes with this home run

With a runner on third and one out in the top of the third of Friday's Brewers-Cardinals game, Adam Wainwright stepped to the plate. Surely thinking, "He's the pitcher -- how hard could he possibly hit the ball?" Craig Counsell instructed his infielders to move in. 

What the skipper should have done was move the outfielders back -- so far back that they were in the stands. Because that's where Wainwright deposited Wily Peralta's sixth pitch of the at-bat.

Though Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard may first come to mind whenever #PitchersWhoRake is brought up -- with Bartolo Colon naturally taking up a good amount of brain space -- Wainwright re-asserted himself in the conversation. After all, he led all pitchers in RBIs last year with 18 -- six ahead of Max Scherzer and doubling Bumgarner's output. 
Friday's home run was also the ninth of Wainwright's career -- tying him for third among active hurlers. 

Wainwright wasn't quite finished, though. After Kolten Wong was intentionally walked, the Cards' starter stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the fourth. Once again, he punished the Brewers for thinking he was an easy out by hitting a two-run single. That's worthy of a round of applause.
