Andrew Triggs strikes out the side, proceeds to walk toward wrong dugout
Few things are sweeter for a pitcher than striking out the side -- short of an immaculate inning, you can't do better than blowing three straight batters away, right? You didn't just do your job, you slammed the door. You're walking on air. So, after A's reliever Andrew Triggs struck out three in a row in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader in Baltimore, it's only natural that he finished his delivery to the first-base side of the mound ... and kept right on walking off the field.
Except, well, that wasn't his dugout:
Triggs was with the A's as the 26th man for the doubleheader, so he was sent back down to Triple-A Nashville following the game. Given that he's retired all six of the big league batters he's faced this year, though, we'll probably be seeing him again soon enough.
