Bryce Harper almost gave a souvenir to Mets fans, but then he didn't
The Nationals and Mets -- even though the Nats hold a healthy division lead this season -- are NL East rivals. They've played some wild games against one another, their players have clones that appear at opposing stadiums and both of their cities have tall buildings in them. They're competitive. They love to beat each other.
Bryce Harper, a man who probably enjoys the fun back-and-forth more than most, carried the rivalrous spirit over to the fans during Washington's 5-1 loss to New York at Citi Field on Sunday night. He allllllmost gave some lucky spectactors a nice souvenir to take home, but sorry, no.
Must be a right fielder thing.
