Daniel Murphy politely declined this pigeon's request to hang out with him at first base

Daniel Murphy is putting together quite a season in his first year with the Nationals, and one enterprising D.C. pigeon wanted to get a better look at the team's new slugger during the Nats' 6-3 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday. Who knows? Maybe they'd hit it off and become fast friends. 
Murphy, however, did not return the sentiment.

Sorry, Mr. Pigeon. Murphy politely requests that you leave him alone. No hard feelings, really, he just has a job to do. First base is a place for diligent defense, not hanging with your feathered pals.
Plus, Murphy knows what can happen if a pigeon gets too close:
