David Price remained in a bases-loaded jam and got out of it with a perfectly-placed pitch

When David Price debuted in the Major Leagues with the Rays in 2008, he was employed as a reliever capable of escaping jams and going multiple innings. As the Red Sox head to the playoffs in 2017, he's back in that role and doing it well.
During Saturday's division-clinching 6-3 win over the Astros, Price was called upon with the Astros rallying in the 7th inning. Price entered with runners on first and second, no outs, and two runs already in. After quickly retiring Brian McCann and Cameron Maybin, he walked Tyler White to lead the bases.
That situation prompted a mound visit from manager John Farrell, which led Addison Reed to believe that it was his turn to enter the game:

As Farrell's reaction made abundantly clear, Price was to stay in the game. So, Reed did an about-face and went back to the bullpen.
Sticking with Price proved to be the right move as he struck out the next batter -- George Springer -- on three pitches, the third of which couldn't have been more perfectly placed:

After seeing Price throw a pitch like that, Reed will know in the future that the former Cy Young Award winner has the situation handled.
