Did you know that Marlins Draft pick Trevor Rogers is first cousins with Cody Ross?

No matter who you are, it's easy to get overwhelmed when taking in the bright lights and enormous masses of people of New York City. We just moved here this week and we've already gotten lost like 25 times. But it's a whole other deal when you're from a small town in southeast New Mexico, like left-handed pitcher Trevor Rogers, who the Marlins selected 13th overall in the Draft. Rogers' cousin, Cody Ross, played with the Marlins from 2006 - 2010 and hit 80 home runs in that stint.

Rogers is a 6-foot-6 left-hander from Carlsbad, N.M., a town situated literally in the middle of the desert. Draft day was a toasty one in NYC -- temperatures in the mid-90's -- but for Rogers that felt more like a chilly fall day. Rogers said that he once pitched in 120-degree weather, which sounds more like punishment than anything else. So yes, he should be very comfortable in Miami.
