A fan's misguided attempt to catch a ball using a full cup of beer resulted in a soaked Ryan Braun

Let the following be a PSA for general ballpark protocol: If you notice a live baseball headed your direction, please use your best discretion. If you have a full cup of beer that you just paid for at the concession stand, it's probably not in your best interest to try and use that full cup of frothy suds as a makeshift glove.

If you do, it's likely to not work ... and, in the case of what happened in Sunday's Brewers-Mets game at Citi Field, may result in no souvenir baseball, a ruined cup of beer and a soaked opposing player -- in this case, Ryan Braun.

That sequence resulted in the first career triple for Mets slugger Pete Alonso, and Braun had some fun with it in the dugout after the inning was over, but the only other outcome of this was a ruined cup of beer or, potentially, a fan interfering with a ball in play, which isn't good for anybody.

Lesson learned!
