Jose Altuve finally got his first All-Star Game hit and George Springer couldn't have been happier

There might not be a better pure hitter in the game today than José Altuve. He's led the American League in hits for four consecutive years and has won three batting titles. And yet, before his sixth All-Star Game presented by MasterCard on Tuesday night, Altuve had yet to record a hit.  

Since Jose Altuve's first All Star Game in 2012, he has almost 200 more hits than any other player in baseball. So it's totally bizarre that that was his first hit in an ASG.

After striking out in his first at-bat on Tuesday night, he had run his streak to a very un-Altuve-esque 0-for-9 in the Midsummer Classic.
That string finally snapped in the fifth inning when the second baseman laced Aaron Nola's first-pitch fastball over a leaping second baseman and into the outfield. When he made it to first base, a huge smile broke out on his face. 

He even wanted the baseball as a memento:

Sure enough, his teammate George Springer knew what was up, too. Springer leaped to the top of the dugout steps, cheering wildly. And when the inning was over, there were hugs all around:
