Juan Soto hit a home run in a softball game ... and ran the wrong way around the bases

(Chesterton, Eric)

One thing we've learned already this offseason is that MLB players love hitting dingers. With Spring Training still months away, they've had to seek out some non-traditional places, like the beach, to hit their winter home runs.
On Monday, Nationals outfielder Juan Soto took his talents to a softball field and showed the opposing pitcher why he finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting. There was one problem, though: In three months away from the Majors, he seems to have gotten confused about which direction to run the bases:

This wasn't just Soto participating in some rinky dink softball game on New Year's Eve. The field was littered with MLB players, including Jean Segura and Nomar Mazara:

Hopefully one of them reminded the Nationals' phenom that you run the bases counter-clockwise. No one wants to see that happen during the regular season.
