Lucas Duda played some wall ball to record a bizarre out at second base

Usually, defensive plays involve fielders and only fielders. That's just the way baseball works. It'd be weird if mascots or fans got involved. C'mon, now.
But during Wednesday's Cubs-Royals game, Lucas Duda stepped outside of the box -- he refused to conform with baseball's defensive norms. After Adalberto Mondesi got an out at second and made a low throw to first base, a calm and collected Duda teamed up with the wall in foul territory to get the second out. There's a reason they call him The Dude.

That's a Wall-3-6 out at second. Hopefully this drill makes it into the next iteration of Tom Emanski's instructional videos.
