The Mets broadcasters, like all of us, got choked up while remembering Jose Fernandez

After the tragic loss of José Fernández on Sunday, the Marlins put on a beautiful pregame tribute before their matchup against the Mets on Monday. The players, adorned in No. 16s with "Fernandez" scrawled across the back, then bowed their heads beside the mound before starter Adam Conley took the hill:

SNY broadcasters Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez also offered their thoughts on the passing of one of MLB's brightest young stars. Fighting back tears, they discussed the 24-year-old's trendsetting personality, his otherworldly talent and how the loss would be such a crushing blow for the baseball world. It's definitely worth a listen in the main clip above.
The Marlins took to the field and beat New York, 7-3 -- jump-started by an incredible dedication from leadoff hitter Dee Gordon.
