Let's remember the very best GIFs from Mike Trout's AL MVP-winning season
"Five-tool player." It's just about the highest compliment you can bestow, reserved for the select few who excel at every aspect of the game -- catching, throwing, running, hitting for power and hitting for average. In other words, it was a term created with Mike Trout in mind.
At this point, there's nothing Trout can't do on a baseball diamond. It's what's made him one of the best players in the game at just 25 years old. And, in the rare instance that he doesn't manage to catch a ball hit anywhere in his zip code, he's got an arm that can do stuff like this:
Seriously, it's never a good idea to run on Trout. Just ask
Heck, even Trout's slides defy all logic:
No wonder every kid in the greater Los Angeles area wants a Mike Trout souvenir:
So congratulations, Mike, and here's to many more trophies down the road. We know, it's a lot to take in.
