Nashville native Mookie Betts made an appearance at the Tennessee-Vanderbilt basketball game

It was a decent 2018 for Mookie Betts. AL MVP? Check. World Series championship? Check. Become a dad? Check.
Betts, a Nashville, Tenn., native, has certainly been enjoying his offseason thus far. On Wednesday night, Betts was in attendance at the basketball game between Vanderbilt and Tennessee, the No. 1 ranked team in the country:

Looking excellent as always, Betts explained that while he lives in Nashville, Knoxville is where his heart was back when he was deciding where to go to college -- he had committed to the University of Tennessee to play baseball and basketball. Of course, the Red Sox got in the way and drafted him in the fifth round in the 2011 Draft out of high school and the rest is history.
Sure, it's a minor shame that we never got to experience the probable wizardry of Point Guard Mookie, but we can't say we blame him for picking baseball full time.
