The Brooklyn Cyclones will become the 'Brooklyn Slices' and attempt to settle the pizza debate
When it comes to specialty jerseys, the Class A Brooklyn Cyclones are the class of Minor League Baseball. They've honored "Saved By the Bell," paid homage to "Ren and Stimpy" and even donned puffy sleeves during their salute to "Seinfeld."
When the Mets affiliate faces the Tri-City Valley Cats, the Class A affiliate of the Astros on Aug. 4, it'll be donning jerseys that make a much more important statement. That's because the Cyclones will become the Brooklyn Slices, paying homage to that glorious and oversized New York slice of pizza. When there are multiple pizza tours throughout the city, it's clearly a matter of civic pride:

The first 2,000 people through the gates will also get a special delivery driver version of the cap:

The team won't just be paying homage to the pie, though, it will also be fighting for New York pizza's supremacy. On the same day, the Cubs' Class A Advanced affiliate, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, will become the Deep Dishers. Fans can make their voices heard for which pizza they prefer here and finally settle this debate:

Sadly, the New Haven Ravens are defunct, having moved to New Hampshire to become the Fisher Cats in 2003, so there is no one to stump for the delicious, thin crust pies that call New Haven home.
