Before Ken Griffey Jr.'s number was retired, every Mariners player wore No. 24 during BP
Combining the glory of "Spartacus" with the joy of "Multiplicity" the Mariners knew just how to celebrate before Ken Griffey Jr.'s No. 24 was retired before Saturday's game against the Angels: Everyone dons No. 24.
Like Calvin with his time machine, the field was covered in dozens of Griffeys.
It's enough to make you dream of thousands of Griffey-filled universes all crashing upon each other, providing us with an endless bevy of action-figure like Griffeys: There's dinger Griffey! There's pitcher Griffey! There's President Griffey!
The day also called for the M's to flip their caps around, natch:
The players weren't the only ones with No. 24 on them, though. Oh no, there was the one in center field (where else could it possibly go?):

And the one that will soon be unveiled right next to Jackie Robinson's No. 42:
Love what you've done with the place, @Mariners. pic.twitter.com/gwk80DMheY

For every kid who grew up drawing a No. 24 on the back of a tee-shirt in permanent marker, this is a day that seemed like destiny. Given how the Mariners themselves were wearing No. 24, something tells me they were once those kids, too.
