There's 'a little rain,' and then there's the downpour that ended the Red Sox-O's game early

Weather delays are part of the game. Sometimes, it's hail. Other times, it's a little precipitation that halts play but doesn't keep fans from dancing in the aisles. 
Sometimes, though, things get ... intense. We're talking put-your-shower-on-the-highest-setting wetness, pouring down in sheets and wreaking havoc on any consideration of finishing out a few innings and going back to the clubhouse where there's warmth, dryness and food waiting. 
Wednesday's Red Sox-Orioles contest at Oriole Park at Camden Yards definitely falls in that category, and it was really quite ridiculous to see. 

There was definitely some weather going on: 

As seen atop this post. NESN's Gary Striewski was the man tasked with doing some on-field reporting during the initial delay in the seventh, while Boston was up, 8-1, even though everybody else was (presumably) somewhere dry. But that's not all he did, as this on-the-scene dugout reporting shows:

That's ... a lot of water. Like, a lot. As Striewski explained, there was some thought of the game resuming since, after all, the Sox and O's are battling it out for first place in the AL East. Still, at some point it became apparent that this rain was not going to let up anytime soon, so the game was called after six innings. 
All this needed to be an even more eventful weather-affected ballgame would be a MIke Trout weather report, but ... he's over in sunny and mostly perfect Southern California. Next time ...
