The Red Sox will retire David Ortiz's iconic No. 34 in a ceremony this June

Over 14 years with the Red Sox, David Ortiz did just about everything. He hit dingers. He broke an 86-year curse. He hit more dingers. He hugged nearly every person in New England. He hit even more dingers -- 541 in all. And now, after putting together arguably the greatest final season in history and walking off into the sunset, there's just one more box to check: retiring his number.

Luckily, the Red Sox don't intend to make us wait -- on June 23rd against the Angels, the team will officially immortalize Papi's No. 34.

Sure, the number retirement is nice, but what else could Boston add to the festivities? A statue? A new tennis racket? His own fashion line? We'll just have to wait and find out.
