No chair can stop Giants Triple-A catcher Andrew Susac from making a catch
With a rehabbing Matt Cain on the mound, the Sacramento River Cats led the Tacoma Rainiers, 4-0, in the top of the fourth inning of their Triple-A matchup on Friday. When Rainiers designated hitter Mike Zunino fouled off a pitch that popped high into foul territory behind home plate, River Cats catcher Andrew Susac wasn't going to let anything prevent him from making the catch.
No, not even the ballboy's chair.
Hey, sometimes, as a catcher, making an out behind the plate isn't easy. Sometimes you run out of room. Sometimes the baseball is just a jerk. But furniture, apparently, is no problem for Susac.
His catch ended the inning, he added a home run in the fifth, and the River Cats went on to win, 7-4. Take note, chairs: Do not get in Andrew Susac's way.
