Robert Gsellman rode the D-backs bullpen cart and Noah Syndergaard was loving it

In the seventh inning of Saturday night's game against the D-backs, Mets reliever Robert Gsellman got the call from manager Mickey Callaway. But he didn't just make his way from the bullpen to the mound -- no, he became one of the brave few to call upon Arizona's new bullpen cart:

Alas, all visionaries are destined to go unappreciated in their own time, and so too was the case for Gsellman. While he saw an opportunity to conserve his energy and ride in style, teammate Noah Syndergaard saw a grown man sitting on the back of a giant baseball wearing a hat for some reason:

As Gsellman told MLB.com's Anthony DiComo, he'd planned on taking a ride on the cart from the very beginning: 
"I told him the first day, let me in," he said. "Take me in. He was like, 'All right.' The guy was pretty excited."
But while he appreciated the lift -- "It's comfortable, you know? Nice, soft cushions." -- there's still room for improvement:

Hey, whatever it looked like, it clearly worked: Gsellman threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings as the Mets went on to win, 5-1.
