#BaseballBands is more than a Twitter hashtag -- it's the best hashtag, really

The Internet can make passing the (usually interminable) final few days before Christmas a lot easier -- especially when there's an irresistible hashtag game to play on Twitter. 
On Thursday, that's exactly what happened when tweets started showing up using the phrase #BaseballBands (a concept amusingly explored in the past, by the way).

Tweets like this one:

As happens when a hashtag gains steam, the entries came flooding in -- and some of them were pretty great, reaching far across genres, decades and musical styles all in the name of fun (and puns). 
Before long, some team accounts got into the act, with great results:

Even Wheatus -- yes, WHEATUS, the '90s band behind that "Teenage Dirtbag" song you still have in your head to this day -- got involved:
