In the winter of 2014, demolition began on Candlestick Park, home to the San Francisco Giants for 40 years, two World Series and one legendary Beatles concert. But while the stadium is now gone, the stars who made it iconic will still be there thanks to a newredevelopment project
According to ESPN, the site on which Candlestick once stood will be converted into a mixed-use development. That means new streets, and those streets will have some pretty famous names -- names like Bonds, Mays, Marichal and Cepeda. Willie McCovey -- whose 231 home runs were the most in the stadium's history -- will even have a park named after him.
We can only assume that a Huey Lewis statue is forthcoming.
