Watch this slider delivered by Matthew Boyd make Joey Votto go weak in the knees
It takes a lot to challenge Joey Votto. But it appeared Matthew Boyd had the right stuff to do such a thing.
In the bottom of the first inning during Tuesday's Tigers-Reds game, on a 2-2 pitch, Votto struck out looking on an 80-mph slider from Boyd. And just take a look at this gorgeous pitch:

Yep -- "filthy" as it was called in the midst of it making Votto take a knee. And yes, an apology from Rob because I am always in shock when Votto strikes out -- aren't you?
It was a heck of a pitch by Boyd. We almost forgot that Votto hit a grand slam in his next at-bat.
Almost forgot.
