A father and son both ended up with home run balls during Saturday's Indians-Yankees game

Some things just run in families, like widow's peaks or green eyes. But apparently there's another trait you can use a Punnett square to predict -- the ability to pocket home run balls.
In the fourth inning of the Indians' 5-2 victory over the Yankees on Saturday,Jason Kipnis hit a solo home run into the right-field seats. This young fan headed into the resulting scrum and came up with the ball:

And then in the sixth, Mike Napoli soloed as well. Guess who caught it? It just so happened to be our friend from above's dad:

Is there any way for scientists to isolate the "fan who always gets the home run ball" gene? If not, consider this a formal request for funding. Surely the person who does it will immediately win a Nobel Prize.
