On Monday, Ubaldo Jimenez became an American citizen

On Saturday night, Ubaldo Jiménezpitched seven strong innings to help lead his Orioles to a crucial 11-3 victory over the Tigers in a fiercely competitive AL Wild Card race.
But on Monday, when the Orioles travelled north for yet another critical series against the Red Sox, Jimenez left the team in order to take care of some personal business that was even more important.

The Dominican-born Jimenez returned to his team on Tuesday as an official United States citizen and, as you can hear in the video up top, he was very proud:
"I've been part of this country since I was 19 years old, and this country has given me the opportunity to be a better person -- not only for me, but for my family... [American citizenship] is something you don't have any doubt in your mind that you want to do this."
It's a long, arduous process to become a naturalized citizen and hearing the happiness and satisfaction from Jimenez as he discussed finally achieving his goal of citizenship is heartwarming. Congratulations to Ubaldo Jimenez and his family on achieving this milestone.
