Lions quarterback Matt Stafford called out a play against the Vikings named after Justin Verlander
A popular Thanksgiving tradition usually consists of overdoing it at the dessert table and watching a football game on the tube. Sometimes, the football and baseball worlds intersect when some of the football guys come out to throw out the ceremonial first pitch -- or in this case, when an NFL team has a play named after a pitcher.
During the third quarter of the Vikings' 30-23 win over the Lions on Thursday, Matt Stafford shouted out a play. The play just so happened to be named after World Series champion pitcher
Pretty awesome! Thanks for the love @Lions and Stafford. #alwaysreppinDetroit pic.twitter.com/PDZWAnQR4U

Verlander of course now plays for the Astros, but he spent most of his career with the Tigers. To see the city pay a small tribute to him was really cool.
Do you think they ran the Kershaw play as well?
