Which of this year's free agents will actually be good in 2019?
While the biggest and most lucrative free agent deals are often long-term commitments, the first season for a player on a new team can often be a strong indicator for how the length of the contract will turn out. After all, first impressions are important, and for a fan base looking to fall in love with their new star, those first few months in a new uniform can make all the difference in the world.
With so many big names on the market this Hot Stove season, we are likely to see a lot of new faces in new uniforms come Spring Training. Which players will live up to their free agent hype from the get-go? Which ones will struggle out the gate?
Check out the video at the top of the page for my predictions on how some of the best names available will fare in 2019.
