Batting Clean-Up with Players for the Planet and Project Green Schools
During the month of April, designated worldwide as “Earth Month,” Players for the Planet, Project Green Schools and MLB’s Player Programs department will work collaboratively to bring ocean literacy and environmental stewardship education to players at various Major League Baseball training facilities in the Dominican Republic. This online education program, part of the Batting Clean-Up initiative, will feature Major League players and coaches as webinar guests and will seek to increase the understanding and appreciation of the need for healthy oceans and waterways through experiential learning and impactful community service.
This program will give young professional baseball players the tools they need in order to use their platforms to inspire others to be more engaged with the natural world around them and to take action to help it heal.
