This dad who knocked a flying bat out of the air to protect his kids is a hero

We all like to think we'd act valiantly in an emergency situation, but we never quite know how we'd act unless we encounter that sort of scenario. Would we help children and the elderly out of a burning building or, like George Costanza, would we push them out of our way?
During the first inning of Friday's Mets-Nationals game, a dad in the stands proved his heroism. Just as a bat flying into the stands was about to hit his two kids, he stuck his hand out and knocked it straight out of the way with a hockey-style save:

There's no guessing how this dad will act under pressure. He has ice water in his veins, the clutch gene. If there's an award given to Dad of the Year, someone should make sure this guy gets a nomination.
