CC Sabathia will make a quick Yankee Stadium cameo on CBS show 'God Friended Me'

After 18 seasons in the big leagues, CC Sabathia has spent plenty of time in front of cameras, and now the Yankees lefty is trying out his acting chops. Sabathia will appear as a special guest star on this week's episode of the CBS drama "God Friended Me," which airs on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
"It's just a cool show and the opportunity came along, so I thought it would be a good one," Sabathia said.
In the episode, titled "The Trouble with the Curve," Sabathia hooks up Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) and his high school baseball teammate Cal (Charles Brice) with special access to Yankee Stadium.
The friends are awestruck as they enter the Stadium and see Sabathia, sporting a beard and clad in a Yankees jacket, walking along the left-field line. Sabathia flawlessly delivers a couple of lines, including a reminder for the guys: "Make sure y'all turn off the lights for me when y'all leave."
"It was easy, just being myself," Sabathia said. "If I had to act like being something different than myself, then it probably would have been tough."
Though Sabathia has spent untold hours on television in an interview setting, the lefty said that his family is especially excited to see this appearance on the air.
"They're excited about it," he said. "It's a different light, a different show. We'll be watching on Sunday."
