A Duke softball player unleashed a killer throw to nail the runner at third and Yasiel Puig was impressed

Uncorking a laser beam from the outfield is one of the most wonderful moments on the baseball field. The ball must be put in play to the outfield, the runners must take their chances rounding the bases and the fielder gets to show off the hose attached to their arm.

Duke softballer Caroline Jacobsen got to show off her arm when her team faced Virginia over the weekend. Check out this arcing heave that landed right on the base for the out:

The throw captured the attention of another right fielder who knows a thing or two about outfield throws: The Reds' Yasiel Puig.

I mean, these two throws don't look all that different -- though Jacobsen's made it to third in the air:
