Even Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky was impressed by Trea Turner's swimming slide

Just three years into his Major League career, Nationals shortstop Trea Turner has already established himself as one of the fastest players in baseball. He stole 46 bases in 2017 and is sixth on Statcast's Sprint Speed Leaderboard.
In the seventh inning of Monday's 3-2 win over the Pirates, Turner tried to tag up to advance to second base. Thanks to a great throw from Gregory Polanco, he showed that sometimes it takes more than pure speed to be successful on the basepaths. He had to pretend he was in the pool to avoid Jordy Mercer's tag:
