Good pals Felix Hernandez and Adrian Beltre mocked each other after Beltre grounded out
On the diamond, friends turn into rivals. Usually.
But an unusual and thoroughly enjoyable bond exists between Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez and Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre, who do not shy away from displays of their playful competition whenever possible.
It happened again during Wednesday night's 8-6 Rangers win at Safeco Field when Beltre -- who's battled a pesky hamstring off and on throughout this season -- hit a soft grounder to third baseman Kyle Seager in the second inning. From the mound, Felix shouted in Beltre's direction as if to warn the veteran to slow down, lest he re-injure himself:
Another classic moment from one of baseball's most entertaining duos. Nothing like playful trash talk between buddies.
