Josh Donaldson and Brandon McCarthy's Twitter exchange will get you excited for the season
It's always a pleasure to see former teammates still getting along years after they sported the same uniforms. Sometimes we witness this in person -- like that time Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell's friendly exchange made us smile in awe. Or, in this case, when
The two former A's took in a "friendly" exchange on Twitter when McCarthy responded to a couple of photos Marucci tweeted out showing off a custom piece of lumber made for Donaldson:
that’ll look great broken in half above my mantel

And yes, the Blue Jays third baseman responded with an idea to make a future at-bat go by faster:
I’m just glad you didn’t say when you break it. We both know how that matchup ends. My guess the manager just tell the ump to put me on first. #yougotjammed

And so the back and forth continued …
if we face off you'll be "bringing rain" with a high F3 in foul territory and a bat in three pieces
— Brandon McCarthy (@BMcCarthy32) February 7, 2018
And Marucci themselves stepped in just to remind them to get along:

The Braves-Jays first matchup of the year is set for June 19th in Toronto (with a few meetups during Spring Training before that). Perhaps then we will know who will win the battle on social media -- and on the field.
