Here's how MLB celebrated the Fourth of July

On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted history's most epic break-up note and the United States of America was born. Just in case you need a refresher course on these events, here's a very informative documentary about them. And, as you surely know, baseball is America's pastime, so of course MLB threw a rager for America's 240th birthday. The Rangers got it started on July 3, but the rest of the league would not be outdone.
Teams wore special uniforms:

Some took time out for photo-ops with heroes:

Players added the red, white and blue wherever they could:

But nothing could top Yasiel Puig's shoes:

Fans, mascots and even groundskeepers got into the American spirit:

Orbit, uh, did what Orbit does:

And in San Francisco, a member of the Air Force came back home to propose to his girlfriend atop the AT&T Park dugout:

Happy birthday, America.
